Not feeling the love

When I first started this blog, I decided it was for myself.  However, I can't help feeling sad that I have only 1 follower. How do I get more? Since no one reads this, I guess I can't expect an answer...

I didn't think I would care if no one read this, but I apparently I do care.  I see these mommy blogs with so many followers and it seems so fun! I follow a lot of blogs, and I want to be followed too.  I guess everyone has to start somewhere, so I will hang in there.

I guess I could let my friends and family know I have a blog, but what about when I want to complain about them?? Ha ha.

Ok, that is all.  If anyone is reading this, please follow me- even if you never stop by again! ;)

  2. I had the same feeling a few years ago, then i started reading other people's blogs and leaving comments.
    Then i got 6 followers! :)
It's be nice if may be you could add some photos- would make the blog nicer and you could get more people interested.

Even if you don't wanna post photos of you or your kids, it'd be nice if for example you find photos online of the thing you talk about.

but read blogs! leave comments! that way people will follow you!

  3. Thank you for the tips! I am considering putting pics up of our boys- I just want to protect their privacy, so I'm not sure.... But I will take your advice to follow more blogs, and add pics of other things! Thank you!!

  4. i'll follow you!!! i feel EXACTLY the same way. i started my blog just a month or so ago. i said when i first started it that i wanted to do it because i needed to write down my story of the past 4 years, and i didn't care if anyone read it, i was doing it as my own form of therapy....psh....yeah right. i get SOOOO excited when i see that i've had a few page views. when i got my first follower i was thrilled. now i have TWO followers...you being my second. TWO...they're lining up at the door i tell ya! i don't know why i feel the need to have followers or readers....i think maybe it just makes it all feel a little more real...validates my story and my babies that have passed....makes me feel like someone is listening and cares....
i just found your blog (from you joining mine), so i haven't really read anything yet, but i look forward to reading more. i'm totally the same...have tons of other things that i SHOULD be doing right now, but this is way more interesting.

i look forward to following you!

  5. I felt the same way when I started my blog 8 months ago and I know so many others do too. It's frustrating but it just takes time to build up the people who keep on coming back. I have Wordpress and for some reason it won't let me put GFC on my site. But I've found from reading some established bloggers that the number of followers isn't important.

You're probably thinking "I don't care though", as have I. :P As crappy as I can still feel if my site doesn't get a lot of views one day or I lose a subscriber, I have found that quality over quantity is so much better when it comes to posts, comments, and followers.

I know how much it sucks to put time and your heart into this and not get even one freaking comment. I would get so excited if I got several comments but now if I just get one that's heartfelt, I rather take that over 100 comments that aren't meaningful.

This sounds so lame but just be true with your blog....write whatever you want, be yourself. If your not already on Twitter, maybe think about it. It's a great place to network and you can meet some amazing people. You don't have to be a tweetaholic either. Just tweet when you feel like it whether it's once a day or a few times a week.

  7. Just keep signing up for the blog hops!
I have a post with quite a few of the Friday blog hops going on right now. Sign up for as many as you can!
Don't expect the bloggers to come to you! Very few do! They sign up and hope others will come to them! I try to do at least 8-10 a night. It can get tiring, but followers are so worth it!
I'm a new follower, hope you can hop by and visit me and check out the Friday hops!!
